Research and Technology Development Innovation projects
Key objectives of the Action "AgroETAK" are:
➢ The support of YPAPEN and the competent bodies in the implementation of the new common EU policies to the agricultural sector to become real development pillar of the place and even sustainable development:
* The new common agricultural policy 2014-2020, which together with the promotion of productivity actions to support and promote actions for the rational and sustainable use of resources, biodiversity conservation and generally environmental protection and
* The new common fisheries policy
➢ The use of knowledge provided by research, innovation, technology and the new Greek scientific potential at all stages of the production process and especially the primary production process that will help to turn the Greek agricultural production towards quality products / high value products value and / or products and processes that incorporate intensive specialized knowledge and technology.
➢ The contribution to the renewal and / or restructuring of the research and technological activities of ELGO-DIMITRA namely the General Directorate of Agricultural Research (formerly NAGREF), in directions that will meet the new challenges of the agricultural sector at national, European and international level in the short and long term.
➢ Supporting the employment of highly qualified scientific personnel, regardless of age to the benefits that this entails.
➢ The new specification and / or experienced scientific staff to the new realities of the agricultural sector.
➢ The contribution of YPAPEN the achievement of the EU strategy "Europe 2020" and the transition to a smart, sustainable and universal development.
➢ The production of new or improved agricultural product, increased product productivity, cost reduction, etc.
➢ Enhancing the competitiveness and sustainable development of regional, national and European economy.
Objectives
About Action AgroΕΤΑΚ
Action AgroETAK consists a systemic intervention that meets the second thematic priority of the Operational Programme of Human Resources Development (reconstruct) to enhance the adaptability of human resources and enterprises. Special scope of AgroETAK is predicting and managing change and increasing economic growth in the primary production sector of the country. The Ministry of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy (YPAPEN), Rural Development, as the bearer of national agricultural policy, aims with this Act to the dynamic adaptation and continual upgrading of knowledge and skills of human resources in the primary sector, as defined by the data of modern society and shaped by the requirements for competitive economy. Adaptation and upgrade pursued through applied research in the primary sector in response to the development planning of the country and the needs and comparative advantages of national agricultural production.

Aim
The purpose of the Action is to strengthen the quality improvement and modernization work at all levels of the primary sector of the Greek economy (agriculture, fisheries, livestock, forestry) in the development, transfer and dissemination of knowledge / technology and practical applications research which will contribute to shaping-implementation of rural development from the YPAPEN and the supervised entities of it.
The Action covers all forms of innovation (both technological innovation connected with the research, and organizational innovation, innovation in design, etc.), which may come from different knowledge systems, including traditional knowledge, scientific and technological knowledge. The inclusion of this innovation at any point in the production process of primary agricultural production to the market should lead to new products, friendly to the environment with new desirable features, lower cost, higher added value and competitiveness.
